The owners of this gothic revival manor were keen to enhance the light that floods the house while retaining a historical feel.
The garden room looks out onto an abundance of climbing magnolia. The design involved painting swags of magnolia flowers sitting within faux panels and trimmed in real gold leaf that glints in the light.
The South-facing drawing room is bathed with light. This was enhanced by painting the walls with a plaster finish that changes, depending on the time of day, from a dusty pink to a warm ochre. Geometric trompe l´oeil panels line the base of the walls accentuating the height of the room.
